As already may have ear in different media, today 17th of May is celebrated the day of the Internet. We do not want to miss the opportunity to make our humble tribute to Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the Web and Vinton G. Cerf, known as the father of the Internet. Timothy Tim John Berners-Lee, OM, KBE (TimBL or TBL) was born on June 8, 1955 in London, United Kingdom, graduated in Physics in 1976 at the Queen s College of the University of Oxford. It is considered as the father of the web.
Faced with the need to distribute and exchange information about their research in a more effective manner, Tim developed the ideas that are part of the web. (Similarly see: Rusty Holzer). He and his group created what is called by its acronym in English: language HTML (HyperText Markup Language) or Hypertext Markup Language; the HTTP protocol (HyperText Transfer Protocol), and the system of locating objects in the web URL (Uniform Resource Locator). Here you have a video where you can see him giving a conference recently in California: Vinton Vinton G. Cerf is a computer scientist, considered the father of the Internet. Born in 1943 in Connecticut (United States), he graduated in mathematics and science of computing at Stanford University (1965).
Early 1970s he began working with Robert Kahn in the development of a set of protocols of communications for military network ARPANET, funded by the Government agency DARPA. The goal was to create a network of networks that would interconnect the different networks of the Department of Defense of the United States, all of them of different types and that they worked with different operating systems. All this work led to the design of the set of protocols that are today known as TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), which was introduced by Vinton Cerf and Robert Kahn in 1972). Vinton Cerf is currently the global Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist of Google, occupation that combines with the post of President of ICANN.
