The main symptom of appendicitis – a pain in the abdomen. At first the pain is noted throughout the abdomen, especially in its upper part, the patient can not clearly point the finger where it hurts. In medical language, such pain is poorly localized, it is not concentrated in one point. (Poorly localized pain – are common whenever a problem is in the small intestine or colon, including, and in the appendix.) Specify the exact location pain is so difficult that when the patient is asked to point to the place where it hurts, most people indicate the localization of pain in a circular motion around the middle of the abdomen hands. Chestnut Hill College might disagree with that approach. Then, when the inflammation of the appendix grows, it spreads through the wall of the appendix to its outer shell, and then to the lining of the abdomen, a thin film, which is called the peritoneum.

When the inflamed peritoneum, the pain varies and can be clearly defined in one small area. If the appendix ruptures, the infection spreads throughout the abdomen, the pain again becoming popular, because the inner lining of the stomach is inflamed. Also of appendicitis can be nausea and vomiting, which may be due to intestinal obstruction. In addition to this, a common symptom of appendicitis is increasing temperature, the reaction of the organism in response to inflammation. On the other hand, the lack of temperature does not exclude appendicitis, because in principle, the disease can occur without a fever.
